Another flowering plant that I hadn’t seen sold here before appeared this January. I thought that the flowers were bright and they came in a variety of colors. Plus they were cheap.

Dimorphotheca is one of eight genera of the Calenduleae (think Calendula). This cultivar is often called a “Cape daisy” and is native of South Africa. This plant is regarded as a weed in parts of Australia.

So I bought four plants and put them on the sill of my bedroom window. That was three months ago.

One of the plants died, but the other three are quite vigorous and prolific bloomers.
