|El otoño ya llego!

Autumn has already arrived. The past few days the weather has been in the comfortable upper-70s (25°C). Next month, October, the average maximum temperature here in Barcelona is about 70°F or 21°C. The good news is that I was able to get through the summer without needing air conditioning. I had air when I lived in San José for five years and was glad that I did. There were afternoons that my condo was over 95°F (35°C) when I got home from work. I think the thick walls of the building, about 10 inches (30 cm), help keep my piso from getting too hot.
When I was living in Richmond, it never really got that hot and often the wind was chilly, around 60°F (15°C), and even cooler at night. It was hard to use my deck because of the cold wind. No such problem with my terraza in El Masnou. It stays warm in Barcelona in the evening making it comfortable to walk around town. And it seems a bit cooler where I live in El Masnou at night. That’s typical for sea-side versus mid-city.
