Now that we are in the midst of summer, I have had the opportunity to compare the climate data for the first six months of this year with the previous two years. 2007 has been the warmest year from January to May, but June was like last year and a slightly cooler than two years ago. Rainfall this year continues better than last year, but still not up to normal levels.

The following table compares temperature and participation data here in El Masnou for the past three years. Temperatures are in degrees Celsius (C) and precipitation in millimeters (mm). The “Summary” row displays the average maximum and minimum temperatures, absolute maximum and minimum temperatures, and the average precipitation for the given month.

Some interesting things to note are:

  • 2007 continues to be warmer than 2006.
  • This spring was disappointing for precipitation, but better than last year.
  • July temperatures has been near normal, we have escaped the heat wave in Eastern Europe as well as the raining and flooding in the UK.
