[My Mood |geekygeeky]

On my flight Tuesday from Atlanta to San Francisco I noticed a woman on the other side of the aisle using a PDA. Nothing unusual about that, except that it was an Apple PDA. And no, I am not talking about a 15-year-old Newton. It had a similar look as an iPhone or iPod Touch, but with a larger form-factor.

The woman was checking what appeared to be her calendar appointments. I watched her scroll both horizontally (by day) and vertically (by time). At one point the PDA was at “home” and I saw probably a dozen icons representing different programs or services.

I have read rumors about such a device, but this is the first time I actually saw one. Of course it could be just a prototype that will never reach market. Time will tell.

Pic and Touch

Sorry, my camera was packed and I didn't want to violate the law and turn on my mobile to take a picture.

The entire front of the device was a screen with no apparent physical buttons, so yes, she used "touch" and gestures to navigate. I assume that the "on/off" button was on the side. It was probably double the size of an iPhone, a little wider and much longer. Think of a big ticket, like its price.
