[My Mood |annoyedannoyed]

I just got a call from the Minnesota Department of Health. They were processing my request for a certified copy of my birth certificate. My Bank of America debit card wasn't being accepted. Not declined mind you, rather the number was not accepted. The person processing the request said that she tried two times and had the same result. She suggested using another card. I said we could use another card, but it was foreign. She said "OK, you betcha". So after keying in all my information again, there was a pregnant pause after she clicked Authorize. Fortunately my "la Caixa" card saved me again.

If that didn't work, I would have had to mail a personal check and wait for that to clear. So much for spending $42 for my request being "expedited". A normal request takes 4 weeks, even though when I called yesterday, they found my record when I was on the phone. Sounds like a scam to generate more revenue.
