The Torre Agbar or Agbar Tower will be officially inaugurated by S.M. el Rey (the King of Spain) today. At 142 meters (466 feet) and 31 floors, it is the third highest building in Barcelona. It is the new headquarters for Aigues de Barcelona, the Barcelona Water company. The parent company Grupo Agbar also owns the company I use for health insurance, Adeslas.
The building, designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel, is distinguished by its lights and colors, that change in function by the hours of the day and night. Its cylindrical structure (ahem) has changed the skyline of Barcelona.
