|Another phone line outage

This week I suffered through another phone line outage, the second time this month. On Wednesday, 2 August my line went dead while I was on-line. Three calls and three days later I had an "incident" report and started getting calls from technicians asking what I had connected to the line, etc. But it wasn't until the following Tuesday when my service was restored. The technician said it was a problem in the central office operated by Telefónica (the privatized old state telephone monopoly in Spain.)
Now this Monday I experienced the same the symptoms: no dial-tone, couldn't receive calls, unable to connect to the Internet. I jumped right on the problem and called my ISP, Jazztel. I was more aggressive on calling and called twice on Tuesday. As usual, on the the third call to customer support i was given an incident report number. On Wednesday I was about to call and harass them a bit when the phone rang and it was a technician from Jazztel. I made sure that I could connect to the Internet and checked the upload/download rate before I let the technician off the phone. So this time they had fixed line in two days.
It annoys me to have my phone line go out of service and even more to have to call three times before they actually start working on the problem. I am used to the States where I only have to call once to get them started on a solution.
