Fred and Steve at Sagrada Familia
double_ohsteven and his friend Fred arrived Wednesday evening at Estació de França on a train from Montpelier. I brought them back to El Masnou and we had chinese food at the marina about 100 m from where I live.
Thursday morning we headed into town for some sight-seeing. First we hit Antoni Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece the Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família. After spending a couple hours there, we walked over to one of my favorite restaurants El Rodizio Grill, filling up until we could hardly walk.
Next we went over to the Illa de la discòrdia on Passeig de Gràcia, which features three modernisme buildings in one block. A little further up the street we reached Casa Milà and went to the free art exhibit so we could see the inside of the building. Then we went next door into Vinçon for look at the back side of Casa Milà, but unfortunately they were renovating/cleaning it.
By this time my State-side visitors were in need of a siesta so we headed back to El Masnou. It wasn’t long until we were on the commuter train back into town for “Bacon Night” at Bacon Bear Bar, fittingly located on Calle Casanova. By 11 pm we all had enough of beer and free tapas and returned back to my place.
Around noon on Friday, Steve and Fred took the train to Sitges to attend a bear meeting. They are scheduled to return Sunday afternoon.
